Out of all of the writers of modern times my favourite one is Dean Koontz.

When I get one of his books I will never read the description on the back of it in case it tells me too much about the story. I love to start reading it without knowing what sort of thing to expect.

With the books of Dean Koontz you never know what type of thing you are going to get. He is a master of so many genres that he never ceases to surprise you. His books are always the same in other ways though… They are always very descriptive, funny and full of some wonderful characters.

I recently read a very good biography about him and I now realize what a nice person he is as well. He had a pretty tough time of things when he was growing up and rather than letting this grind him down into a life of failure and misery he has transcended it all by writing books that help others.

From what I have read, Dean Koontz is a very hard-working guy who will often spend up to sixteen hours a day writing a novel. He has a lot of wisdom which he loves to share and the way that he chooses to do this is through his stories.
