Have you ever wondered why some actresses manage to get meatier roles despite the fact that they have grown old? On the other hand, some really famous actresses quickly look jaded and outdated as they grow old. Julia Roberts is a good example of the latter effectively. Meryl Streep is a very good example of the former category. As she grows older, she finds herself getting really good roles in hit movies.
Beyonce Knowles, the popular music star who has also been quite instrumental in the world of fashion is planning to launch her new line of fashion for pregnant women. Running a fashion brand, House of Dereon , which has become quite a hit so far, Beyonce and her mother, Tina Knowles have successfully faring ahead with their business sense. You might well have seen the pop up stands in markets displaying the print commercial of House of Dereon.
Celebrity endorsements are nothing new- they’ve been selling us cigarettes and soap and cereal since radio and TV were invented. Ronald Reagan, Jean Harlow- pretty much the whole of Hollywood wanted us to smoke and wash and breakfast with their particular brand! More recently we’ve had celebrity designed fashion ranges, celebrity perfumes, even celebrity vodka… Step forward Victoria Beckham, David Beckham (and how long until Cruz or Romeo get in on the act?!) Britney Spears, Beyonce…
But Katie Price (a.k.a the woman previously known as Jordan) has taken it to a new level this month, with her new magazine, ’Katie’. She’s always been a stratosphere above other celebrities with her approach to business. Katie’s already had six novels, children’s books and four autobiographies published. An album, two singles, lingerie, jewellery and perfume ranges, hair straighteners and hair dryers… all wrapped in her distinctive pink plastic and paper packaging. She’s a one-woman marketing tornado, and that’s all while having three kids and constantly appearing in the papers.
One of her more unusual ranges is horse-riding kit for adults and kids. Katie really focuses on her own interests (and publicising them to the max) which is maybe what makes her so successful.
Now after a life-time of being in magazines and the newspapers, Katie’s taking the helm with her own magazine. In true Katie Price fashion at the launch she wore a shiny neon-orange leotard covered in rhinestones and with the front cover of her magazine printed across the front, teamed with those famous 32 FF’s, big hair and a pair of huge high heels.
Whatever you think of her, there’s no denying that Katie Price (to be forever known as She Who Was Once Jordan) is one astute business millionaire business woman! She’s sold us all manner of products and now she’s selling us herself and her thoughts wrapped up in magazine form!

On July 23, 2011, rehab singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment in London and this was confirmed by the publicist of the 27-year-old singer. Her death was treated at the time as unexplained, however, there were sources claiming that the award-winning artist took her life through a drugs overdose. There may be some damn good actors/actresses in today’s film industry, but they just don’t have the same class of those from years gone by. And this is a real shame.
